Special mention in the competition for a multi-family residential building with reduced energy consumption
A concept that won a special mention in a two-stage competition organized by the Ministry of Development and Technology for a multi-family residential building with reduced energy consumption. The task of the competition was to select the five best projects, which could later be replicated by municipalities in areas designated for residential construction, financed by local governments, with modifications resulting from location conditions. Our concept assumed dividing the required usable area between two residential buildings – gallery buildings, so that their layout on the plot was as modifiable as possible. The above-ground part of the buildings was designed entirely in CLT wood technology, with insulation in the form of mineral wool and wall finishing in a ventilated facade system, with the predominant finishing material in the form of wood. The estate is independent in terms of heat collection – ground and air heat pumps and photovoltaic cells have been designed to support the system.
