Competition entry for the reconstruction and expansion of the headquarters of the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Toruń, in a competition organized by SARP Toruń. The new part of the building created a several-storey structure, topped with a tower, which was to be an analogous repetition of the old observation tower. The newly designed tower is not only to fit into the city panorama, it also provides the opportunity to observe this panorama from the viewing terrace located on the top floor. This element is an added value to the designed layout and, through its accessibility to visitors, defines the headquarters of the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service not only as another administrative building, but also as a kind of landmark on the city map, which connects the function of a public institution with the public space of the city. And we treat this tower as a public space. The building also symbolically connects not only with the historic headquarters of the Fire Service, but with the other towers in Toruń. The tower is their modern, synthetic sister, designed to suit contemporary architecture.
